LC - Mermaid Wish

Saturday, July 30, 2016
Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I would like to share this card with you. I hope your not tired of seeing another mermaid card. =)
The stamp is from Love Cynthia which was release a couple months ago. I used the scallop frame by MFT for my card panel. I colored the mermaid, shell and star fishes with Copic markers. The seaweed is stamped with dye ink. For the background I used MFT cascading scallop stencil and distress inks salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, and peacock feathers.

I heat embossed the sentiment in silver embossing powder and to finish it off I added Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

MFT - Birthday Bear Hugs

Friday, July 29, 2016
Hello everyone! I'm so glad it's Friday as it has been a rough week for me. My daughter got sick from camping last weekend so I have missed a couple days of work to care for her. On top of that she got me sick but fortunately we are both feeling a lot better. I loaded up on Vitamin C and drank tea with honey which has worked wonders for me every time! Unfortunately I didn't have the energy or mood to craft so I wanted to post these cards that I shared last week on my Instagram (crafty_m0chi). I definitely went out of my comfort zone on these cards but overall they turned out great!
I used MFT stamps (surprise) the Beary Special Birthday set. I wanted the bear to be surrounded with lots of presents and you can see him peeking out of the big box! To do this I used the masking technique and for the first time I made a one layer card.
I made the blue card first and I loved how it turned out so I decided to make one for a girl. The masking technique was fairly easy for me to do. I don't have step by step process but there are a lot of videos on YouTube that go into details. After stamping all the images where I want them I used Copic markers to color them.
For the purple card I used MFT premium dye inks in grape jelly and razzle berry for the background. For the blue card I used tumbled glass distress ink.
I heat embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder and I also added star sequins which I think is from Martha Stewart.

Thanks for reading! Have a good day!

TGF - You Shore Are Sweet

Wednesday, July 20, 2016
Good morning everyone! Here's a card I made using the new mermaid stamp by The Greeting Farm. Isn't she gorgeous? I have been a fan of The Greeting Farm stamp for awhile now and I always love coloring them. They carry a lot of adorable boy and girl stamps but now they have critters too. I was intimidated to color them at first because of their hair. Coloring hair is probably one of the hardest to learn when you first use Copic markers. I practiced a lot with the browns and then I got brave and started coloring with shades of blue, pink, purple, and green.

With this card I wanted to use yellow shades. Believe it or not this was my first try using the color combos and I really like how it turned out. I didn't want to make this card too busy so I kept it pretty simple even though some might not agree. LOL! For me this is simple, I added shimmer on her hair using Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen and diamond stickles to her tail. For the background I used Mama Elephant Columbus Circle die I distressed the negative with Picked Raspberry and Broken China. I also distressed the card panel with mustard seed. I put foam tape on the entire back of the card panel and adhered it to the base of my card. I then heat embossed the sentiment with silver. To finish off my card I added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

MFT - Beary Full

Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! Today I'm sharing new products by My Favorite Things. This month is very special for MFT because they're celebrating 10 years of being a company. I read their story on how they started and it made me cry because they're such wonderful people. I'm so happy on how far they have come and I wish them nothing but the best!! They always make great products every month and I always want to buy them all. My poor wallet doesn't agree but it's okay! On my card today I'm featuring some of the things that I purchase from the July release.
I used the new stamp set by Birdie Brown called Beary Special Birthday. This bear makes me laugh and reminds me of myself because I love to eat! I don't do diets because I love food too much especially sweets. I try to exercise at least 3 times week to keep myself from feeling blah and keep up with my active kids. I also have to keep in shape for my job which is good for me because I have to push myself to get up and exercise. Anyway back to the card, I used the new die-namics chevron fringe for an added touch. I die cut it twice using two different color cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment from Birthday sentiment.

For the background I used MFT dye inks in Summer Splash and Coral Crush. To finish the card I added clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

I'm Back!

Saturday, July 16, 2016
Hello crafty friends! I'm back from my business trip. Today I will be sharing all the cards I have posted on my Instagram. I won't go into details as to how I created it since I have a lot of cards to cover but if you have any questions feel free to email me. Let's get started! Btw this might take awhile so sit back relax, grab a drink and enjoy!

First up is this card using all My Favorite Things products. The dies and stamps were released in June. I was looking for a birch tree die for such a long time so when I saw this release I knew I had to get it. It's perfect and versatile! I wanted to create a forest scene using the critters from Sweet Forest Friends stamp set. They're absolutely adorable and goes well with the Forest Friends stamp set also by MFT stamps.
I love how this card turned out especially with the background. I used MFT premium die inks but I apologize I did not write down the colors. I promise I'll recreate it again because I love the color combo so much. All the stamp images were colored with Copic markers. I added foam tape behind each element for dimensions.

 Here's a closer look!

The next card is one that I quickly came up with before I left on my business trip.

Interactive cards are soo popular now and a lot of companies are coming up with dies to make it easier for you to do it. I don't do a lot of interactive cards and I'm not really sure why. They're super fun to make and they're really cool! I used several stamp sets from MFT Ewe are the Best and Hog Heaven. I wanted the pig flying across the sky and the sheep looking up wondering where is this pig going. I used snow marker by Marvy Uchida to add faux fur on the sheep. When you push down on the marker liquid will come out, you just need a small amount then you use a heating tool and it will puff up to make it look like snow but works well as fur as you can see.

To finish the card I added some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Moving on I made this card using Lawn Fawn stamps. I made an underwater scene using the Mermaid for you stamp set which is adorable but I'm sure you already knew that. :)
Ok if you haven't notice by now I love making my own background and this one is probably one of my favorite. I used a stencil by MFT stamps and distressed it with salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, and peacock feathers. Here's an up close look.
For the frame of the card I used Madison Avenue creative cut from Mama Elephant. I like the scallop edges and thought it would work great with the scallop background. Lastly I embellished it with small bubbles from Pretty Pink Posh.

Phew half way there, I hope you're still with me. Next is this card again with the water theme. The girl on the donut floater is a stamp by Love Cynthia. I wanted the girl to be floating in the pool just relaxing and getting a tan. I wish this girl was me right now minus the two piece bikini. LOL!

I made this card into a shaker using sequins from none other than Pretty Pink Posh. I love these iridescent sequins, the colors are so gorgeous!! I just love it and will keep buying them. I hope you're enjoying my projects so far. I have a few more to go!

Next card is this one! I used the Under the Weather stamp set by Clearly Besotted. I made this card because my daughter had a fever the day before I left. Worst timing right? I hated leaving her while she wasn't feeling well but my husband stepped in and took good care of her. YAY for awesome spouses!!
I wanted each stamp to have their own frame and the story book die from Pretty Pink Posh was perfect. I distressed each box using the colors picked raspberries, wild honey, tumbled glass and cracked pistachio.

I also die cut the scallop frame by Mama Elephant in black cardstock. I think the black frame added a nice touch to the card.

We have come to the end of my longest post ever. I hope you're not tired of seeing my cards yet because I have one more to share. This time I created a birthday theme using the Caped Cuties by Clearly Besotted. Again I used story book die from Pretty Pink Posh. I distressed it with dusty concord, picked raspberries and wilted violet. I heat embossed the stars and also added star diecuts here and there.

Here's a closer look. That is all the cards I posted on Instagram while I was away.

If you have any questions about any of my cards please email me at gdmarcel1@gmail.com.
I hope you like them! Until next time have a great weekend everyone and thank you so much for sticking around to the end. Big hugs!!

My Favorite Things - Beautiful Girl

Happy Monday everyone! Today I want to share this card with you that I will enter for MFT Color Challenge.

The products I used are from MFT Stamps. I used a stencil for the background and blended with MFT dye inks: Blueberry, Gumdrop Green, In the Buff and Coral Crush. I colored the girl image with Copic markers. I added stickles to her wings and Spectrum Noir clear sparkle for her dress. I wish I could capture the shimmer in photo but this is the best I could do.

I also added Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins to the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
